The Sims 2: Nightlife is the second expansion pack for The Sims 2, which was released on September 13, 2005 (USA and Canada) and September 16, 2005 (European Union, Australia and New Zealand). It was released for Mac OS X on March 27, 2006. The expansion pack centers on the new downtown area, which has various activities, such as bowling, karaoke, dining and dancing, as well as a photo booth, and includes a dating mini-game which allows player to engage in their Sim's relationships in greater depth.

A wide range of layer blending modes exist including many not available in any other painting program.

Paper Textures. Use paper textures while you draw to give the feel and look of textured paper and canvas.
Over 70 different surface textures are included.

Masks. Masks are the artists masks you may be familiar with if you’ve done traditional artwork.
TwistedBrush has an extensive set of masking capabilities that you’ll use to protect and manipulate areas of your work.
Included is a magic wand with a number of different modes for creating your masks. Or use a common shape or one of the many masking brushes to create exactly the mask you need.

Filters. A filter allows for processing the image all at once.
TwistedBrush includes the full range of image processing filters ready to use.

Tracing Paper.
The tracing paper feature gives you the ability to turn your canvas into tracing paper so that you can see a reference image below it for use as a drawing guide.
This is invaluable for many types of work.

Cloning. Cloning, taking image data from somewhere else and placing it into your painting, that is cloning.
The source image for the TwistedBrush cloning brushes can be a different image or from another area of your current picture.
The cloners can be used to render a photo as a artist drawing, or to touch-up a photo or do many things in-between.

Scripts.
With scripts you can record your painting actions and play them back, recreating your painting from scratch.
This has value for trying out different “what-if” scenarios, for teaching pusposes, for animation production when used with the AVI saving option or just for entertainment.

Pattern Brushes. There are a number of ArtSets that contain Pattern brushes. These brushes paint a pattern on your canvas as you paint.
Adjust the size the pattern with the density slider. Categories of patterns include, surface, materials, nature and others.

Brush Shapes. Most any brush in TwistedBrush can be further enhanced with a shape.

Drawing Guides. Drawing guides are a visual aid that appears over your canvas to help you with perspective, distances, and general construction of your artwork.
A large number of different drawing guides are included.

Image Brushes. Image brushes are powerful tools for both recreating the flow and feel of working with natural media but also for allowing for extraordinary painting effects.
The Image Brushes : Basic ArtSet includes the brushes you need that when used in combination of captured images give you an unlimited supply of brushes.

Image Warp. When using the Image Warp tool you will be pulling, pushing, pinching, and stretching your image as if it was make of rubber or putty.
These tools at the extreme case can be fun for wildly adjusting a photo as shown here.

This is the most tired release I’ve ever been through. I wonder if user who get this will appreciate how hard I really went through for this. Quake 4 is the fourth title in the series of Quake FPS computer games. It was developed by Raven Software and distributed by Activision. Raven Software has collaborated with id Software, the creators and usual developers of Quake games in the past. In this case, id Software supervised the development of the game as well as providing the Doom 3 engine, now referred to as 'id Tech 4', upon which it was built. Quake 4 went gold in early October 2005 and was released on October 18, 2005 for the PC, and later for the Xbox 360 and the Apple Macintosh. A special DVD Collectors Edition also exists, including promotional material and the game Quake II with its expansions. The Xbox 360 version of Quake 4 is based on the Special Collectors Edition, and therefore also includes Quake II.

Plotwise, the game is a sequel to Quake II and takes place during the same war as Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. However, Quake II, Quake 4, and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars do not share story lines with Quake or Quake III Arena; their only relation is their names and logos.

Burn is a PC game which belongs to the FPS (First Person Shooter) genre.
The Player can choose between 13 arenas and 5 characters and fight in a Single-player and a Multi-player mode. The game provides two special modes: Deathmatch, where the winner is the one who has collected given number of frags, and Burn, where the winner is the one who has survived the competition. Each fight can be made with special modifiers like Low Gravity, Weapon Power Up, Timed Competition or Sudden Death.
League, the main Single-Player game mode, allows the players to fight on the arenas, gather points and eventually fight with a boss – Dark.
The maps in Burn contain a lot of bonuses and environment vulnerable to destruction. There are 7 different weapons available in the game, each with an altrnative fire mode.

Grand Prix 4 is the fourth installment in the GP-Series by Geoff Crammond. However, this time around, Microprose had a much larger role in the development of the game.

For the first time in the Grand-Prix-Series, Grand Prix 4 had to go directly head-to-head with an EA-Sports offering, in the form of F1 2002. The flame wars and heated debate about which is better has not stopped since.

Grand Prix 4 is not a revolution over Grand Prix 3, but more an evolution, as was Grand Prix 3 over Grand Prix 2.

A scientist and witchcraft aficionado on expedition in the Brazilian rainforest, Dr. Muretta, befriends a spider monkey, which she names Jaja. But Jaja’s curiosity causes him to leave the expedition. He discovers a ruined temple occupied by previously unknown primates. Jaja is bitten by these creatures but rescued by Dr. Muretta. She returns to her home in New Orleans, taking Jaja with her. Unbeknownst to her, the bites infect Jaja with an evil presence, turning him into something evil. D. Muretta is forced to put Jaja down. But evil can not be vanquished so easily. Jaja returns from the grave repeatedly and in a moment of haste Dr. Muretta burns the dead creature resulting in the monkey becoming a supernatural spirit. The evil presence of Jaja influences all residents of the estate. Particularly, this affects Dr. Muretta’s daughter, Mira, whose mind becomes twisted over the years, reflected in dark sketches and paintings of the weird Brazilian primates. Resident Evil 2: Platinum

Resident Evil 2 begins shortly after the first one ended. Raccoon City has been overrun by the zombies created by the unscrupulous Umbrella corporation. While the heroes of the first game are absent from the story-driven portion of Resident Evil 2, you still have your choice of two characters. Actually, it isn't much of a choice. To finish the game, you must play through each section as both characters.

Most of Resident Evil 2 takes place in the Raccoon City Police Station, where both Leon and Claire have taken refuge from the zombie infestation. Inside, you'll solve a variety of puzzles, which mostly involve finding keys to unlock previously inaccessible areas. The puzzles are simple, and you'll find yourself sliding blocks onto pressure plates and fitting medallions into their resting places. Likewise, the action, while graphic in content, is somewhat on the light side. You just point your character in the general vicinity of a zombie and fire your weapon.

Neither of these points is a criticism. Resident Evil 2 is an action/adventure that puts emphasis on neither. Instead, its strength is its atmosphere. The game is both creepy and, at times, frightening. The creature designs are good, as there are both gory scenes of zombies feasting on victims, and startling moments of creatures jumping out of nowhere.

The translation from the PlayStation is good. The character models are high resolution, though the backgrounds are a bit washed out. The movies, though well rendered, are somewhat grainy, but look better than those in other console ports like Final Fantasy VII. The PC version of Resident Evil 2 includes all the gameplay modes from both the US and Japanese versions of the PlayStation game, and there are enough extras to satisfy you if you still want more once the lengthy "original" mode draws to a close. The PC version also has an exclusive new feature, an art and model gallery that lets you see how the designs evolved. It's not vital by any means, but it's a nice touch.

The music is appropriately creepy, with sad piano music floating in and out of the game. The other sound effects don't fare as well. The groaning of zombies is creepy at first, but over time it becomes tedious and repetitive. The voice-overs are terrible, though they seem appropriate in the B-movie setting.

Resident Evil 2's origin as a PlayStation game is apparent. The method by which you save games will infuriate PC purists, as it is not only sporadic, but requires an item of which there are a limited number. This is part of the game's design, though, and it would lose much of its suspense without it. But if such conventions annoy you, consider yourself warned. If you can brave its shortcomings, however, Resident Evil 2 is good, scary fun.

Medal of Honor: Airborne is a World War II first-person shooter computer game and the 11th installment of the Medal of Honor series. It was developed by EA Los Angeles and was released worldwide on the PC and Xbox 360 in early September. A PS2 and Wii version was set to be released but was cancelled. 2007. A PlayStation 3 version was released late November 2007. The game takes place in the European theater of World War II, and is the first in the series to focus on paratrooper activities.

In the single-player mode, the player takes on the role of PFC Boyd Travers, a paratrooper in the US 82nd Airborne Division. Missions include various insertions into Italy, northern France, the Netherlands and Germany, each one beginning with a jump behind enemy lines, and success requiring completion of given objectives. Airborne also features a multiplayer mode available for online play, where users have the choice of fighting for the Allies and parachuting down to the battlefield, or fighting for the Axis and starting on the ground, defending the position from enemy paratroopers.

The game uses a heavily-modified Unreal Engine 3. Airborne employs a nonlinear gameplay style whereby the player can start the game anywhere in the map by directing where they land, as opposed to previous linear FPS games where the start point and direction is already laid out, such as Allied Assault.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, the first PC installment of Electronic Arts' WWII-themed shooter series, is superb. However, if the realistic setting has led you to expect a serious combat simulation along the lines of Ghost Recon or Operation Flashpoint, you're going to be surprised and perhaps disappointed. Medal of Honor is first and foremost a run-and-gun shooter--a really, really excellent run-and-gun shooter. A lot of clever scripting and precisely orchestrated mayhem lend it a sustained intensity that more open-ended tactical shooters often lack. Relatively short but very dense, it's like one-half game and one-half amusement park ride.

Medal of Honor is intense and exciting all the way through.

Medal of Honor isn't very heavy on story. Instead, the game is split into six more or less disconnected missions spread across more than 30 different levels. Rather than focus on creating memorable characters or surprising plot twists, the developers at 2015 have taken an arguably more effective route by constantly introducing memorable set pieces and surprising new gameplay elements. As in Half-Life, you witness everything from the fixed first-person viewpoint of your character. All the "cutscenes" are seamlessly integrated into the ongoing events of the level. Control is never taken away from you. Just as in Half-Life, this technique is incredibly effective for creating a sense of both urgency and of attachment to the game's environments. It's an ongoing mystery as to why developers don't use this uninterrupted viewpoint more often.

Over the last couple of years, 10 to 15 hours appears to have become the standard length for single-player shooters. Medal of Honor doesn't break this trend and should take you slightly longer than 10 hours to complete on the standard difficulty setting. However, it packs a lot of content into those hours. You won't ever have to force yourself through the game. This is mainly due to the wide variety of interesting things and unexpected events that happen on a regular basis. It seems as if the developers have tried to inject every level with some completely new challenge or new combination of elements from previous levels. It's a testament to this variety that to give many specific examples would be to ruin the surprise.

The Omaha Beach landing is just one of the game's memorable scenes.

Even so, at least one specific example is in order, just to give a sense of how involving Medal of Honor's missions can be. You begin the first level riding in the back of a truck with four members of your squad. The squad leader informs everyone that you're attempting to infiltrate a Nazi-occupied village. You can see another truck driving behind you. Both vehicles stop at a checkpoint, and a German guard approaches the rear truck and begins talking to the driver. As the conversation drags on, your squad becomes progressively more agitated. Finally, the driver of the rear truck pulls a gun and shoots the guard, at which point alarms sound, gunfire erupts all around you, and the rear truck explodes in a fireball. Your squad jumps out of its truck and you follow. With the leader barking orders, you all advance on the village gates, eventually making your way to a courtyard. There, you're ordered to check a door. As you do, German soldiers appear all across the rooftops and balconies surrounding the small courtyard. You're trapped and chaos ensues, as bullets and grenades rain down on your squad. Eventually, a door is blown open and you're ordered to enter a building, get to the second floor, and commandeer a mounted gun that's currently being used against you. Once you do that, and turn the gun against the Nazis, an ally joins you and tells you he'll cover you from a window while you head to the far end of the courtyard. By the time you make it, the entire rest of the squad is dead, and you're forced to continue to the next level alone.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, often called THPS4, is the fourth game released in the Tony Hawk's series. It was developed by Neversoft and published by Activision for the GameCube, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. In 2003 it was published for the PC, Macintosh and Tapwave Zodiac.

The game is a departure from the previous three games' Career mode, in which you had a set amount of time in order to find and complete goals. THPS4 instead featured a Career mode more similar to Free-skate mode, in which there was no time limit to explore the level. This Career mode would be later seen as the Story modes of Tony Hawk's Underground series, American Wasteland, Project 8 ad Proving Ground.

The game, reportedly, would be the last Pro Skater in the series, though some took this to mean it would be the last Tony Hawk's game in the entire series.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows. It is the fourth installment in the Call of Duty video game series, excluding expansions. It is also the first one to break away from the World War II setting and be set in modern times, and the first game in the series to be rated Mature in North America. The title and game details were announced on April 25, 2007. It was released worldwide between November 6, 2007 and November 9, 2007, and became available on Steam on November 6, 2007 for pre-purchase, becoming available to play on November 12, 2007. A Mac OS X version of the game is scheduled to be released in May 2008.

The story is set in a fictional near-future war between the United States, Europe, and Russian Loyalists against Russian Ultranationalists and Middle Eastern rebels, and features real-world weapons and vehicles. It is told from the perspective of both a United States Marine and an operative of the British SAS, and is set in multiple locations, including the Middle East, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Pripyat. Its multiplayer features different game modes and contains a leveling system, which allows the player to unlock additional weapons, weapon attachments, and camouflage schemes as they advance.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare received almost universal praise, winning multiple awards at gaming websites, and has been complimented on its storyline, visual elements, realism, and quality of its multiplayer

Call of Duty 2 is a first-person shooter video game and sequel to the critically acclaimed game Call of Duty. It was developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It was released on October 25, 2005 for PC and November 15, 2005 for the Xbox 360. Other versions were made for mobile phones as well as Pocket PCs and Smartphones.

The game is set during World War II and is experienced through the perspectives of three soldiers in the Red Army, British Army and United States Army.

The game was met with a positive public reception, receiving mostly positive reviews from critics. The Xbox 360 version sold over 250,000 copies in its first week, and had sold 1.4 million copies by October 2006.

The Sims 2 is a strategic life simulation computer game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to the best-selling computer game, The Sims, which debuted on December 14, 2000. Mark Mothersbaugh composed the music for the game.

The Sims 2 essentially revolves around the same concept as its predecessor. Players are free to control their Sims (as they interact with their virtual surroundings) engaging in various mundane activities and forming relationships in a manner similar to real life. Like its predecessor, The Sims does not have a defined final goal; gameplay is open-ended. Sims 2, however, has life goals, wants and fears, the fulfillment of which can produce both positive or negative outcomes. All Sims age, and can live up to eighty-five Sim days depending on the degree of which their aspirations are fulfilled (although one item can extend a Sim's lifespan further).

The Sims 2 builds on its predecessor by allowing Sims, the simulated human characters, to age through six stages of life and incorporating a more powerful 3D graphics engine. It was first released on September 14, 2004 and became an instant success, having sold a then-record one million copies in its first ten days. In addition to its commercial success, The Sims 2 was well received by critics. As of July 26, 2007, The Sims 2 has sold more than 13 million units worldwide and is the best-selling PC game of 2004. A sequel, The Sims 3, was announced by EA in November 2006.

Graphics are better and there are cut scenes to keep the story interesting. The controls default was just plain sad. No one uses curser keys for the PC, we use WASDâ?¦hello! I had to change almost all of the default keys for the control key pad. It is difficult to manuver Lara as she does not slide left or right, only turns.If your character is in the crouch position, you are unable to slide left or right and I found this very frustrating. If your gun is drawn, it is terribly annoying to run up stairs because although you are telling her to go upstairs, she inevietibley wants to go back downâ?¦.though it is very funny to watch Lara run like a bow-legged guy up a flight of stairs.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a 2.5D real-time strategy computer game by Westwood Studios, released in 2000 as the follow up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert, another game in the Command & Conquer series. The Allies and Soviets return in the game, and units and some structures from the first Red Alert make a reappearance. The game features better graphics, multiplayer and a continuation of the Red Alert story. However, unlike the first Red Alert, it does not seem to feature connections to the Tiberian storyline.
The story takes place after the events of the original Red Alert, following on from the Allied storyline, whereby the war ends in an Allied victory. With Stalin dead and the war over, the Allies appoint Alexander Romanov as a puppet ruler, stating that "although an aristocrat and a member of the Communist party, Romanov was an advocate of peace" (the name "Romanov" — that of Russia's imperial dynasty — seems not to be an accident and Romanov states that 'We Romanovs have our legacy to consider!'), this is very naive as it is nearly impossible, under any circumstances, for one to be both an aristocrat and a member of the Communist party, particularly if one is naimed "Romanov". Under Romanov's leadership, the USSR rebuilds itself from the destruction of the first war. However, unbeknownst to the Allies, Romanov harbours a deep hatred of the victorious Allies, and secretly works to develop military technology and rebuild the Red Army. Romanov builds up a supposedly peaceful "World Socialist Alliance" that is ostensibly meant to lend peaceful aid to other socialist nations, notably Iraq, Libya, and Cuba. When a civil war breaks out in Mexico, a member state of the peaceful WSA, Romanov dispatches troops as peace keepers. Sensing that the time is right for an attack, Romanov launches a full-scale invasion of the continental United States. The Soviets realized that they lost the last war because the United States came to Europe's aid, so they decided to focus their efforts against the United States in this new war. Russia's "peace keepers" in Mexico roll across the border into the United States, while the Red Navy and Red Air Force launch devastating attacks on America's Pacific and Atlantic coasts. When US President Michael Dugan threatens nuclear retaliation against the USSR, Romanov's Science and Technology Advisor, Yuri, uses psychic technology to sabotage America's nuclear capabilities. As the Soviet military machine swarms across the United States, President Dugan makes a desperate plea for assistance from the European Union. European forces unite with the war-torn United States after the United States neutralizes Soviet Missile Silos and the world is plunged into a World War III as the Allies and Soviets once again grapple over the fate of the entire world.

ones born from a changed moment in history that led to the Nazi invasion of
1950s America.

Presenting this scenario as a powerful and realistically crafted alternate
history, Fall of Liberty will deliver an explosive action experience in a
world where famous real-world locations appear startlingly different under
Nazi occupation.

Fall of Liberty changes reality by twisting one historical fact: In 1931,
Winston Churchill was hit by a taxi on 5th Avenue in New York. In reality,
he survived the accident but walked with a cane for the rest of his life.
But what might have followed if Winston Churchill had been killed in the
accident? Without his voice to lead a country to war, the events of WWII
change dramatically; the Normandy invasion never happens and the UK and
all of Europe come under Nazi rule by 1945.

Building on the successful conquest of Europe, Nazi intelligence develops
superior weapons and vehicles so that on December 7, 1951 they are able to
launch an all out surprise attack on America beginning with a mass
invasion of New York.

Unprepared, the invasion stuns America and plunges much of the country into
fearsome Nazi occupation. In Washington, the Swastika flies from The White
House, and in a show of force to end rebellion, a nuclear attack on Manhattan
is being planned. The odds are overwhelming, the reality of the situation
shocking, but for players, its time to join the resistance and fight a
guerrilla war in the newly occupied territories.

Need for Speed Pro Street

Unlike the last two Need for Speed games, which told the story of an underground street racer through campy yet entertaining cut scenes, ProStreet follows the legal street racing career of Ryan Cooper. The game still uses cutscenes to try to instill some story into the proceedings--something about Ryan getting dissed by a big-time street racer--but it's uninteresting thanks to terrible voice acting and unlikable characters. Ignoring the story, it's your goal to head to different events, dominate them, challenge the best of the best, and then take on Ryo, the man who disrespected you after your first race.

Thanks to the sheer number of race days you'll need to win, it will take a long time to get to Ryo. Each race day consists of a number of different events. Most of these will be familiar to anyone who's played previous Need for Speed games. Grip races are standard races with eight cars on the track, and your goal is to finish first. Other events have you trying to get the fastest time or highest speed through checkpoints, or the best time out of your class of cars. Drift racing is back, but has been revamped and is actually fun this time around since you don't lose all your points for going off the track. You'll also be doing a lot of drag racing. It's fun for a bit, but gets old quickly thanks in no small part to the preceding minigame in which you have to heat up your tires; it's lame, and you have to do it before each of the three rounds. While there's no shortage of events, there isn't a whole lot of variety. Many of them feel the same--you just want to go fast. This makes the game grow old quickly, a problem when there are so many events to slog through before you reach the end.

The game also grows tiresome because the action on the track just isn't that exciting. Some of the later cars you unlock, like the Lamborghini and Zonda, are superfast, but for the first 50 races you'll be racing some rather pedestrian vehicles. Since you're on a track there are no shortcuts, so many of the courses end up feeling the same, especially since a "new" course is just an old one with a few different turns. Most importantly, there are no cops. Getting chased by the five-0 was easily the best part of the last few games, so its omission here is huge. Damage plays a more pronounced role this time around; you'll have to repair damaged cars, but you always have enough damage-repair markers to take care of things. We encountered a fair amount of lag when we used a controller with the game, which made car damage a more significant factor with the PC version.

While you always want to win a race day, that's not your only goal. You'll need to dominate as many race days as possible to unlock new events. After each race you're awarded points based on where you placed, how fast you finished, and how much damage you took. If your combined score for all the events breaks the old record, you've dominated the race day and you're awarded with a prize like cash or parts for your ride. You don't always have to race perfectly, but you'll have to win most of the events to dominate. This is made difficult because you can bring only a few cars into each race day--one for each event--so if your car can't hang with the other rides, you're in trouble. All is not lost, though. Like in other NFS games, you can purchase new cars or upgrade your ride to improve performance. And like in the last game, you can sculpt certain aspects of your cars' bodies to make them more aerodynamic. This time you even get to use a wind tunnel. It looks cool, but it's not that useful. Nor are all the visual customization options, because it seems that you can't use your rides online. The tool for putting on decals and vinyls is similar to what is found in Forza 2, but not quite as deep.

On the PC you can create your own race day by picking a location, race types, and even what cars can participate. You can then play these race days online in ranked and unranked matches. There was some lag, the racing was a bit choppy, and we had difficulty finding opponents, but it was still fun--you can really build up some good rivalries by racing the same people in multiple events during an online race day.

Every platform gets a piece of the avalanche of advertising that permeates the game. Sure, races in real life are heavily sponsored, but ProStreet takes it too far--there's nary a stretch of track where there's not some sort of advertisement for motor oil or car insurance. It doesn't seem possible, but 360 and PC owners get to enjoy even more advertising thanks to dynamic ads that will be downloaded when you start the game up for the first time. Even better, some of the achievements are sponsored by a car insurance company. It's too bad that the cost of the game and the ridiculous amount of advertising isn't making EA enough money--on the Xbox 360 (and according to EA, soon on the PS3) you can use real cash to unlock cars and upgrades. Every single time you go to buy a car, you're asked if you want to use in-game cash or real money. You don't even need to have unlocked a car to be able to purchase it with real cash, which is really unfair since you can use that unlocked car to zoom right to the top of the leaderboards on the early courses.

If you've got a rig that can handle it, the PC version of Need For Speed looks just as good as the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. With all of the visual options enabled the game looks very nice--particularly its cars, which look fantastic. They look great when they're shiny and new, but they look even better when they're all smashed up. It hurts your wallet when you total a car, but it sure is entertaining to watch the windshield shatter, the bumper fall to the ground, and the hood peel away like a sardine can lid. Unfortunately, enabling smoke effects, car damage, and bumping up the detail causes the game to run poorly. As mentioned earlier, the game doesn't give off a tremendous sense of speed, even with all of the bells and whistles turned off. This is partially because you'll spend a lot of time driving slower cars, but also because the frame rate isn't very fast and is frequently choppy. Everyone gets in on the terrible career menu, which is ugly and difficult to navigate. We also experienced numerous crashes, regardless of the visual settings.

Battlefield 2142 is a first-person shooter computer game designed by Digital Illusions CE and is the fourth game in the Battlefield series. It is set in the 22nd century, during a new ice age.

The game was built primarily for multiplayer use allowing a maximum of 64 players on a server and allowing a single player mode with AI bots on Conquest mode with a maximum of up to 16 players. It has its own ranking system to keep track of the user's stats similar to the one used in its predecessor, Battlefield 2. It additionally opens up a new category of vehicles not seen in Battlefield 2 as well as new futuristic weapons the player is able to use. Battlefield 2142 has an unlock system allowing the player to choose a new unlock every time they achieve a new rank rather than making them purchase the item. EA Games has also released a booster pack called Northern Strike, which contains 3 new maps, 10 new unlocks and 2 new vehicles. At the 2007 WWDC, it was announced that Battlefield 2142 would be released for Macintosh computers in July 2007. It was released on August 28, 2007 for Macintosh. Since the game uses Cedega it will only work with Intel based Macintosh systems and not PowerPC.

The gameplay of Warcraft III is markedly different from its predecessors. The campaign mode inserts the player in a long, plot-driven sequence, and a variety of conventional scenarios, where the player must defeat an enemy, similar to previous Warcraft games. Multiplayer mode allows a player to play against other people, via the internet, instead of playing against computer-controlled characters.

A game of Warcraft III takes place on a map of varying size, such as large plains and fields, with terrain features like rivers, mountains, seas, or cliffs. In Campaign mode, the map is initially covered with the Black Mask, meaning nothing can be seen in that area until it is explored. Otherwise, areas that have been explored previously but now are not within sight range of an allied building or unit are covered with the "Fog of war"- though the terrain remains visible, changes such as enemy troop movements and building construction are unseen. Players must construct settlements and bases to gain resources, defend against other players, and train units to attack enemy bases and NPCs. There are three main resources that are managed in Warcraft III: gold, lumber, and food. The first two are required to construct units and buildings, while food restricts the maximum number of units the player may control at one time.

The game also introduces creeps, computer controlled units that are hostile to all players. Creeps guard key areas such as gold mines or neutral buildings and, when killed, provide experience points and special items to a player's hero. This encourages players to be aggressive instead of turtling. Warcraft III also introduced a day/night cycle to the series. Besides having advantages or disadvantages for certain races, at night most creeps fall asleep, making nighttime scouting safer; however, the line of sight for most units is also reduced. Other minor changes to the gameplay were due to the 3D terrain. For instance, units on a cliff have an attack bonus when attacking units at lower elevations.

In previous Warcraft games, there were only two playable races, Orcs and Humans, which had more similarities than differences. Barring cosmetic differences, most Orc units were identical to their Human counterparts. In Warcraft III, the Night Elves and Undead were added as playable races. Additionally, as in StarCraft, each race has a unique set of units, structures, technologies, and base-building methodology.

Warcraft III adds powerful units called heroes. For each enemy killed, heroes gain experience points, progressing in levels and gaining new spell options (bringing RPG elements to the series). Certain heroes can also apply beneficial auras to allied units. Heroes can equip items to increase skills, defense, and other abilities. The highest attainable level in a normal game is ten. At level six, the hero can obtain an "ultimate" skill that is more powerful than the others. Heroes can also utilize the various natural resources found throughout the map, such as controllable non-player characters, and shops containing usable items.
